June 15, 2026

Supply chain technology veteran joins as Shipium expands beyond retail into 3PL, pharmaceutical, life sciences, automotive, and manufacturing.

SEATTLE, Wash. — June 15, 2026 — Shipium, the platform that powers the entire shipment lifecycle from promise to payment, today announced the appointment of Thomas Deakins as Vice President of Industry Growth. Deakins joins as the company broadens its reach from its retail roots into a wider set of Fortune 500 industries, and as its ecosystem of partners, advisors, and industry relationships grows alongside it.

Shipium now serves enterprises across third-party logistics, pharmaceutical, life sciences, automotive, and manufacturing in addition to retail. Each of these industries brings its own cost structures, operating realities, and partner landscapes. Deakins's role is to deepen Shipium's relationships across that expanding ecosystem and to help the company meet the needs of customers whose shipping challenges look very different from one industry to the next.

Deakins brings a career that spans the modern history of supply chain and logistics software, with leadership roles at SAP, G-Log, Oracle, MercuryGate, Trimble, project44, and Redwood Logistics. He is also a member of the faculty at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville's supply chain management program, one of the most respected in the country, where he teaches the next generation of supply chain leaders.

"Thomas has spent his career inside the systems that actually move the physical world, and that kind of depth is hard to hire for," said Jason Murray, CEO and co-founder of Shipium. "As we grow into industries with very different cost structures than retail, his credibility with customers and partners is exactly what we need. We are fortunate to have him."

"Shipium is solving the shipping problem at the platform level, and doing it for some of the most demanding enterprises in the world," said Thomas Deakins, Vice President of Industry Growth at Shipium. "Helping more industries get there is the kind of work I want to be doing, and the team here is building it the right way."

Deakins begins in the role effective immediately.
